My name is Doyleen Terrell. I am beginning my 7th year as principal of Nancy Smith Elementary School. We at NSES are excited about the 2007-2008 school year.

I am honored to have a leadership role in this Exemplary Campus that has been named a 2006 National Blue Ribbon School and has been named to the Texas Business Education Coalition Honor Roll for the past two years.

Parents are an integral part of the Nancy Smith Elementary Team. Out team knows that parent involvement is key to a successful school year.

Any person who is interested in becoming a Tag Team volunteer should call the school office at 762-3384.

The theme for this school year is "Character in Motion." Students are encouraged to become people of character who demonstrate respect, responsibility, honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, caring, and good citizenship. Morning announcements include a "Spotlight on Character" that focuses on good character traits that are put in motion by students and staff.
