Checkout Limits |
· Students in seventh through twelfth grade may check out three (3) books from the library at a time.
· AISD faculty may check out a maximum of one-hundred (100) books from the library per semester.
· Adults not enrolled in Albany Junior Senior High School and residing in Albany, TX may check out three (3) books from the library at a time. |

Loan Periods |
· Reference materials, i.e. encyclopedias, may be checked out overnight only.
· Students may check out books for a maximum loan period of two weeks.
· AISD faculty may check out books for a maximum loan period of one semester.
· Adults residing in Albany, TX may check out books for a maximum loan period of two weeks. |

Renewals |
· An item may be renewed by bringing it by the library to be rechecked.
· Renewing an item renews the loan period of a loaned item.
· An item may be renewed for a maximum of three (3) times. |

Overdue Items |
· Overdue notices will be sent out to patrons at least once per grading cycle (every six weeks).
· Patrons with overdue items will be charged 5 cents per day an item is overdue, excluding weekends, and are expected to return them as soon as possible out of respect for other library patrons. |

Lost or Damaged Items |
· All patrons that lose library inventory will be expected to pay for it by the end of the semester in which the item is checked out. The original purchase price of the lost item will be charged to the patron.
· Any item returned damaged beyond repair must be paid for by the patron by the end of the semester in which the item is checked out. The original price of the damaged item will be charged to the patron. |

Patron Status |
· A patron is considered by this library to be any person to which an item of circulating library inventory is loaned.
· All patrons are expected to read and agree to these library policies before being assigned a patron id number and being eligible to check out items from the library. |
